Permanent Cure for Constipation: The Ayurvedic Way (Without Laxatives)

Constipation is not "just a small problem". In Ayurveda, it is considered the root of more than 80% of chronic diseases — because every toxin your body wanted to eliminate yesterday is still sitting inside you today. The longer it stays, the more it poisons you from within.
Most people deal with constipation by reaching for Dulcolax, Isabgol, or coffee. These work for a day or two, but the underlying issue gets worse — and your colon becomes lazier and more dependent. Ayurveda offers something better: a permanent fix.
Why You Are Constipated (The Real Reasons)
- Vata imbalance — too much dryness in the colon
- Low water intake — colon dehydration is the #1 cause
- Poor fat intake — yes, you need ghee for smooth elimination
- Suppressing the urge — when you ignore the signal, the body stops sending it
- Sedentary life — sitting all day weakens peristalsis
- Stress and anxiety — the nervous system controls bowel movement
The 7-Day Ayurvedic Reset Protocol
Morning (5:30–7:00 AM)
2 glasses of warm water + 1 tsp ghee on empty stomach. Sit on the toilet for 10 minutes — even if no urge. You are training the colon.
Breakfast
Soaked overnight: 6 raisins + 4 figs + 2 prunes. Warm cooked oats with cinnamon and ghee. NEVER cold cereal.
Throughout the Day
3 litres of warm water (sipped, not gulped). Walk after every meal — even 5 minutes.
Lunch & Dinner
Always cooked vegetables, never raw at night. 1 tsp ghee on rice or roti. Add hing and ajwain to dal.
Bedtime
1 tsp Triphala powder in warm water OR 1 cup warm milk with ½ tsp ghee. The single most effective Ayurvedic constipation remedy.
Permanent Lifestyle Rules
- Never suppress the urge — go the moment your body signals
- Squat-style toilets or a small footstool give 50% better elimination
- Eat at the same times daily — your gut loves rhythm
- Gentle abdominal massage clockwise for 5 min before bed
- Walk minimum 6,000 steps daily
When to See a Doctor
If you have blood in stool, sudden weight loss, severe pain, or constipation lasting over 4 weeks — please consult a doctor first. Ayurveda complements but does not replace medical care for serious symptoms.
Daily Digestive Support
RootWell's blend of Jeera, Ajwain, Saunf and Himalayan Salt supports daily elimination by strengthening Agni and balancing Vata — the two roots of constipation.
